HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya designed the certification mark for “Sustainable Fashion” products as the letter S, referring to HRH The Princess herself who is a guiding light on the path to revive the wisdom of Thai fabrics and handicrafts. It also stands for “Sustainable”, which is the royal initiative of sustainability in every dimension for a good quality of life for the people as evident in every region across the country. The project is realized by Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior. The “Sustainable Fashion” text is also designed to be mixed with the letter S, referring to every process of fabric and handicrafts creation that are friendly to the environment and our only planet.
HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya also adds heart shapes at the beginning, middle and end of the “Sustainable Fashion” message with the wish that creators of fabric and handicrafts will apply this royal initiative in their productions from the beginning to the end for the sustainable benefit and happiness of all Thai people.
The “Sustainable Fashion” royal certification mark for fashion and handicraft products is given to weavers, craftsmen, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs of fabrics and handicrafts with environmentally friendly procedures that are safe for both creators and wearers according to the “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” royal initiatives. This includes mulberry plantation for native sericulture, dyeing fibers with colors extracted from local plants, planting more trees, and creating contemporary branding which conveys stories with profound meaning of local wisdom. It is a certification of product quality that meets international standards where every process responds to the royal initiatives of “Sustainable Fashion” by HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.
