Community Development Department is honored to have received the royal grace of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya in joining as the Editor-in-Chief of the Thai Textiles Trend Book Spring/Summer 2025, Vol. 5. This edition explores the connections in the Thai local wisdom knowledge-sharing process for sustainable handicrafts through the “Threads of Wisdom” concept, aligned with the royal initiatives “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” and “Sustainable Fashion.”

HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has bestowed four thematic trend directions as follows:
1. Warm Embrace
2. Paradise Found
3. Silhouette of the Past
4. Iridescent Dream

This book showcases popular weaving techniques in Thai textiles, such as Mudmee (Tie-dyeing), Yok Dok (Brocade), Koh-Luang (Interlocking Tapestry Weaving), Khit (Discontinuous Supplementary Weft), and Jok (Continuous Supplementary Weft). It also highlights contemporary interpretations of patterns like Kled Tao (Turtle Scale), Ratchawat Koam, and Khit techniques with color combinations. Readers will gain insights from various perspectives alongside new designs rooted in the intricacy of Thai fabrics and handicrafts, spanning community to regional levels and promoting them to the international fashion industry. The book also features Thai Tone color palettes for designers, weavers, and others in the textile and handicraft industry to use.
