HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya values Thailand’s local wisdom as a cornerstone of national pride, frequently visiting various regions, particularly the Southern region, to offer royal encouragement to local artisans and weavers. This ongoing commitment aims to uplift local crafts in alignment with the “Sustainable Fashion” initiative, which seeks to modernize Batik fabric products for enhanced international acceptance. HRH The Princess intending to preserve it for longevity.
Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior, has organized the “Batik Model Development to Global Market” Project. Successful implementation of the project has elevated local products to the international level, providing sustainable income for Batik artisans in their communities. Through adding higher values to local products and building knowledge among artisans and entrepreneurs, this initiative has significantly increased acceptance for Batik products.
