The Donkoi Model to the Global Market Project to create a contemporary of “Donkoi Sakon Fashion Collection,” inspired by the principles of “Sustainable Fashion,” a royal initiative of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. This collection showcases indigo fabrics that reflect the unique charisma of Sakon Nakhon province, renowned for enduring shades of indigo dye, and distinct fragrance, all derived from local plants. Through collaboration between Community Development Department and indigenous artisans from 7 participating communities, the project has revitalized the heritage fabric patterns with a beautiful infusion of contemporary appeal.
Donkoi Sakon Fashion Collection is conceptualized and crafted through the integration of knowledge from local weavers, philosophers, alongside the working team of the “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” Project, which includes Thai fabric experts, Thailand’s leading designers, and various field experts. With the aspiration to leverage local aesthetics for global consumers, they have created difficult-to-replicate patterns that resonate with younger generations, who not only value local wisdom but prioritize sustainability in the fashion process, aligning with current global fashion standards.
