The Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior, is responsible for developing the grassroots economy by promoting income generation and quality of life through product development under the OneTambon One Product (OTOP) initiative. This project strengthens local knowledge, raises production standards, and builds competitiveness in domestic and international markets, focusing on high-potential products like textiles, household items, decorative items, souvenirs. These products bolster local communities and have strong potential for growth.
The OTOP Premium Product Development Project for Global Markets in Textiles, Garments, and Accessories, Decorations, Souvenirs aims to improve the reach of OTOP producers, with 3-5 star ratings for contemporary products, enabling them to align with global market demands, and to generate sustainable income for communities.
This project embraces the royal initiatives Fun with Thai Fabric and Sustainable Fashion, by HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, as core concepts in textile and craft product development. The project emphasizes the use of natural materials, waste reduction in production processes, and the preservation of Thai wisdom in contemporary fashion.
