The mission of Community Development Department, Ministry of Interior, is to support Thai fabric manufacturers and entrepreneurs in creating innovative and contemporary products from local wisdom to gain local and international recognition. This initiative fostered job creation, income generation, and strengthened community economies, in line with HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya’s royal initiatives “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” and “Sustainable Fashion.” This effort has expanded into the Ethnic Model Project, showcasing the beauty, culture, and identity of Thailand’s ethnic groups through textiles.

The fabrics from the Ethnic Model Project possess a unique identity of each ethnic group, enhancing traditional patterns with modern color combinations while preserving their authenticity. Through the integration of knowledge and coaching workshops across all regions by Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook working team, these fabrics stand out as high-quality, meeting the domestic and international demands.
