Moral Village

Moral Village

Ministry of Interior enhances the livelihood of people through the “religious process,” which strengthens their mentality to help prepare them to become good citizens who adhere to morals and possess a positive attitude toward Thai cultural traditions and societal responsibilities, fostering sustainable well-being.
“Moral Village” Project represents a strong commitment of Ministry of Interior, which has signed an MOU with Sangha to promote the supporting role of local temples and the community for sustainable happiness. This initiative integrates the concept of leaving no one behind, which is one of the important goals of “Sustainable Village” Project.

“Moral Village” Project partners with The Sangha Supreme Council on three projects, as follows:

1. Wat Pracha Rat Sang Suk Project, led by Somdet Phra Maha Wirawong, President of Public Utilities and Secretary to Supreme Patriarch Committee, focuses on instilling discipline in community members and Sangha by maintaining order and cleanliness in houses and temples. This project, aligned with “5S” principles, includes building public restrooms and enhancing temples as community leisure spaces.

2. Temple – Community Support Project for Sustainable Happiness, led by Somdet Phramahathirachan, President of Public Assistance and Abbot of Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram, provides support for the four requisites to community members and promotes moral living for happiness.

3. 5 Buddhist Precepts Village Project, led by Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamongkol Muni, President of Reconciliation Project Using the Principles of Buddhism, promotes adherence to moral and religious principles, abstaining from alcohol, cigarettes, nightlife, and drugs.

Ministry of Interior, in partnership with spiritual leaders from all religions, promotes adherence to religious principles focused on good deeds. This joint effort aims to reduce suffering and enhance happiness and self-reliance, enabling individuals to support themselves, their families, and society for sustainable happiness.
