Young OTOP 2025

Young OTOP 2025

The Ministry of Interior, through the Community Development Department, is committed to strengthening grassroots communities in a sustainable manner, under the Sufficiency Economy philosophy and the Five-Year Operational Plan (2023–2027). Its “Learning-Participation-Raising Standards” approach aims to improve the quality and identity of local fabrics for global markets, and, over the past twenty years, its One Tambon One Product (OTOP) project has been pivotal in creating jobs and boosting income nationwide while preserving traditional skills across generations and transforming that knowledge into contemporary products.

Recognizing the importance of empowering young people as a key factor in preserving and extending invaluable local wisdom, the Community Development Department launched the Young OTOP project, to enable a new generation of artists and entrepreneurs to create modern textiles and craft products that meet both domestic and international market needs. In today’s digital economy and society, with new entrepreneurs driving change, Young OTOP has grown to understand ever-evolving consumer groups. The project disseminates modern skills in design, systems thinking, and professional brand communication, while at the same time honoring local culture, in line with the contemporary Sustainable Fashion and Fun with Thai Fabric initiatives of HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.
