Ministry of Interior showcased activities including “Mahad Thai Pun Suk,” “The Successful Journey of Household Food Waste Management,” and the “Sustainable Water Management Model” at “ASEAN’s Biggest Sustainability Expo 2023” at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The expo illustrated Ministry of Interior’s commitment to driving sustainability across various dimensions to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and had provided a platform for sharing sustainable practices for Thailand and the global community.
The “ASEAN’s Largest Sustainability Exposition 2023” aimed to showcase technology and innovations focused on environmental sustainability and holistic livelihood enhancement to promote a more equitable society. Highlights included promoting careers for Thai women, enhancing food security, and fostering collaborations for a sustainable world. The expo featured digital board exhibitions and live action activities under the theme “Change for Good,” embracing “Good Balance, Better World for Sustainable.”
Ministry of Interior’s Ladies Association showcased an exhibition on women’s empowerment in Thailand through “Human Resource Development,” fostering self-reliance at individual, family, and societal levels. A key initiative is the Thai Women Empowerment Funds, which supports women in forming career guilds to earn income for their families, now benefiting 14 million members. Additionally, the program also enhances skill for OTOP (One Tambon One Product) to promote group entrepreneurship and merchandise creation.
These development concepts encourage households to rely on their own abilities by adopting initiatives of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. These include the “Ban Nee Mee Ruk Plook Phak Kin Aeng” and “Tang Nee Mee Phol Phu Kon Ruk Kan” Homegrown Plants Initiatives, aiming to prevent food scarcity and improve community quality of life by stabilising the food environment.
