HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya presided over the symposium on sharing knowledge of Thai fabric fashion design for international stage and unveiled the “Federation of Thai Fashion Designers (FTFD)” on November 29, 2024, during the Silk Festival 2024: Silk Success Sustainability, at IMPACT Arena, Exhibition and Convention Center, Halls 6 – 7, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province.
HRH The Princess presided over the “Symposium: Designing Thai Fashion for the Global Stage” and unveiled “Federation of Thai Fashion Designers (FTFD),” established by Community Development Department in alignment with “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook initiative,” aiming to elevate Thai fabrics and handicrafts for global recognition while creating jobs and income to support the economy. HRH The Princess accepted the position of honorary president to the federation.
On this occasion, HRH The Princess attended the symposium on the topic “Designing Thai Fashion for the Global Stage”, marking the beginning of FTFD. The Federation brings together Thai designers who play a significant role in supporting the coaching of participants in “Pha Thai Sai Hai Sanook” project from 2020 to 2024. This initiative aims to strengthen Thailand’s fashion industry through coordinating with government agencies, media, and retailers both domestically and internationally to enhance negotiation power. This will lead to maximum benefits and the development of the Thai fashion industry. FTFD plans to organize volunteer activities to promote local craftsmanship and inspire young people to preserve their local wisdom.
